Man Stab Motorist For Alleged Affair With His Wife

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, apprehended Ibrahim Ogunrinde, a 46-year-old inhabitant of Adu Town, Ajebo Road, Mile 6, Abeokuta, on charges of attempted murder.

As detailed in a statement issued on Friday by the Corps' Director of Information and Public Relations, Moruf Yusuf, the arrest of the suspect took place at Ijaye Garage, Abeokuta, on Thursday, June 6, 2024, around 2:40 pm.

The statement revealed that Ibrahim Ogunrinde, identified as a butcher and farmer, allegedly masqueraded as a passenger and enlisted the victim, Kosu Daniel (aka “Jeje”), to transport him to Olubo Town on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at noon. Subsequently, he purportedly assaulted Kosu Daniel, inflicting stab wounds to his neck and arm, leaving him severely injured and absconding with his motorcycle. The suspect admitted to his actions, claiming a motive to eliminate the victim due to suspicions of an extramarital affair between him and Ogunrinde's spouse two months prior.

Unaware that Kosu Daniel survived the assault and was undergoing treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, the suspect believed his attempt had been successful.

Yusuf disclosed that both the suspect and the recovered motorcycle had been handed over to the authorities in Magbon, with investigations still underway.
