Ascap Music Award Winners 2020

ASCAP honored pop icons, chart-topping producers and the genre’s hottest songwriters in our first ever virtual 2020 ASCAP Pop Music Awards, held across our @ascap social media platforms June 17-18. While we couldn't all be together in person, we welcomed the world to tune in and participate as we revealed exclusive photos, videos and more from the songwriters and publishers of the most performed pop music of the past year.



Louis Bell received his second straight ASCAP Songwriter of the Year award, for his work on The Jonas Brothers' “Sucker” (named ASCAP Song of the Year) plus seven more hits by Post Malone ("Better Now," "Circles," "Goodbyes," "Sunflower" and "Wow."), Halsey (“Without Me”) and 5 Seconds of Summer (“Youngblood”). The epochal “Old Town Road (Remix) Feat. Billy Ray Cyrus" earned ASCAP hitmakers Jozzy and Trent Reznor the Most Streamed Song award.



Kobalt took home ASCAP Publisher of the Year, for their role in multiple hits of the past year including “Close to Me” (Diplo, Ellie Goulding & Swae Lee) and “Memories” (Maroon 5). BMG won Independent Publisher of the Year, for bringing “Panini” (Lil Nas X), “Someone You Loved” (Lewis Capaldi) and more to the masses.
