Coronavirus: Super Eagles Striker Set For Fresh Test

French Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux says Super Eagles winger Kalu Uche would undergo a fresh test to ascertain his level of readiness before his July 27 resumption date and would join the squad if his test returned negative.
Football365.fr reported that Bordeaux regrouped in Dinard (Ille-et-Vilaine) without Samuel Kalu.
The Nigerian international forward was granted an extension after becoming the second Super Eagles star to contract the disease after Genk striker, Paul Onuachu.
The Nigerian has been in quarantine in France since returning from the West African nation.
And a report from AFP confirmed that Kalu was the player announced by the club to have contracted COVID-19 on July 6.
The winger has missed the team’s training sessions since the opening of camp and might be left out of some of the club’s pre-season games.
The 20-year-old joined Gent from AS Trencin in January 2017 and has been a consistent performer in the Jupiler League during the last few seasons.
He scored seven in 32 in the Jupiler League last term, and it’s this form that has prompted Bordeaux to recruit him as the second Nigerian to play for the club.
Long stuck in its native country, the Super Eagle did not return to France until the beginning of July after the Girondin player was then announced positive for Covid-19.
His condition was concealed due to medical confidentiality. But upon learning of this result, the former de La Gantoise was isolated and placed under quarantine.
Kalu joined Bordeaux in 2018 on a five-year deal.
