Gumen Attack Police Division In Ebonyi, Vehicles Set Abalze

 

A group of armed assailants launched an assault on the Nigerian Police Division situated in Ezzamgbo within the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Arriving aboard a bus, they initiated gunfire indiscriminately, instigating panic throughout the community. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, as vigilant police officers successfully thwarted the attack. DSP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesperson in the state, confirmed the incident during an evening briefing with Channels TV. He disclosed that law enforcement personnel swiftly responded, causing the attackers to flee, albeit leaving a vehicle and motorcycle engulfed in flames. Ukandu further noted that a comprehensive investigation is underway to elucidate the motives behind the assault, with the authorities diligently pursuing the perpetrators.
