Bandits Abduct Catholic Priest In Kaduna

Bandits have kidnapped Reverend Father Gabriel Ukeh, the presiding priest of St. Thomas Parish in Zaman Dabo Community, located within the Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The abduction reportedly occurred during the early hours of Sunday at the parish rectory.

Reverend Father Emmanuel Kazah, the Vicar General (Pastoral), revealed this information in a press release obtained by PUNCH Online on Sunday.

In his statement, Kazah called for prayers for the swift and safe release of the abducted priest. He strongly condemned the ongoing trend of kidnapping innocent and vulnerable members of society for ransom, urging the government to enhance its security measures, especially with the approaching Sallah festivities.

Kazah emphasized the need for cooperation with law enforcement agencies and cautioned against vigilantism. He assured the public that every lawful method would be employed to secure the safe return of Father Gabriel.

He concluded with a plea for divine intervention, invoking the Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ for the prompt and unconditional release of Father Gabriel and all others held captive.

When contacted, ASP Mansir Hassan, the Kaduna State Public Relations Officer, promised to verify the information and provide an update.
