[DEVOTIONAL] SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS by Apst. Obinna Kris Chinagorom

Righteousness is by grace and not by work therefore shall no man boast of it. Legalistic people believe in self perfection, they are always better than everyone else and should be listened to at all times, they always have something to offer other people but they need nothing from others. One adage says that a "fool is known by his words and a wise by his silence ".

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Luke 18:10‭-‬14 KJV

Legalistic people manipulate others by the way they speak, the way they dress, by their actions only to tell you that you are of less value, unqualified compared to them. God's judgement is different from man, what men sees as virtue is actually most times weakness in the eyes of God.

The bitter truth is that legalistic or self righteous people are not necessarily important in the kingdom work, they are not the people that God is searching for,  he is actually looking for people who understands their faults, and are reasonable enough to accept their wrongs by humility and the Holy Spirits will finish the rest work by his hands.

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

1 Timothy 1:15 KJV

This verse Paul declared the purpose of Chrst coming to the world, don't be humiliated by any man because of their position, only believe in Christ and the finished work of salvation that is free.

Shalom, shalom,  shalom. Jehovah Jaire will supply your needs this week in Jesus name Amen.
