Three Children Of A Parent Burnt To Death In Benue | Nigeria News Today

 Three members of a family have been burnt to death at their home in Otukpo, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue state, IgbereTV reports.

Three children that happened to be members of a family lives were cut short due to fire outbreak in their home in Benue sate. 

It was learnt that this happened in Jesus College Quarters, a two-bedroom flat in the quarters which is the home of the victim's father, at about 1am on 17 December. 

According to the late children's father, Mr Ode, who was also with his wife on their room before the incident said that it was the wife's younger sister that noticed the fire on the midnight after she perceived something burning during which the children were deeply asleep. 

He said :

"On hearing the noise from my wife's sister, I got up trying to know what is going up and fire got escalated to the point I couldn't handle. Then I forced myself into the already covered by fire room where my children were sleeping and it got my face burnt severely. Unfortunately, all attempt by me and my neighbours were in vain as my three children got burnt to death."

DSP Sewuese Anene, spokerman of the state Police Command has also confirmed the terrible incident on Friday.
