Man Beaten To Death Over Possession Of Hard Drugs In Imo|Nigeria News Today

 

In Anara market in Imo state, one Darlington Ugboaja, 27, has been beaten until he gave up a ghost after Methamphetamine or otherwise locally called Mkpurummiri by the people of those locales was found on him.

This non-law abiding incident has caused great panic in the market as most shops and stalls has been shut down by their owners over fear of reprisal attack from the deceased kinsmen. 

As according to the source who pleaded anonymity said the victim lost consciousness while receiving beating normally known as"jungle justice" from the angry youths and was pronounced dead while rushed to the nearest clinic. 

The sourced said that the deceased was seen coming out from where drugs are sold and was suspected to have had Mkpurummiri on him. The youth rushed and searched him and on seeing the said substance, he was immediately tied to the electric pole where he received the beaten that later on took his life. 

The Kinsman of the deceased, Kinsley Onyeyewuenyi said the deceased community were thrown into sadness by the sudden death of Ugboaja. 

The police spokesperson of the state, Micheal Abattam said the incident is yet to be reported to any police station as of the time of filling this report.
