2026 WCQ: Ndidi Keen To Face Former Super Eagles Coach, Rohr

 

Wilfred Ndidi is excited about playing against his former coach, Gernot Rohr.

Rohr was the coach of the Nigerian national team from 2016 to 2021. He will now lead the Benin Republic team against Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The game will take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Ndidi said that facing Rohr will be a big motivation for him and his team.

"Rohr was our coach for five years, but players came and went during that time," Ndidi said.

"Playing against him is a motivation because we know he's a good coach and he'll plan to win. We need to show him that he didn't realize the full potential of our team."
