Ekiti State Commissioner Of Environs Barely Escaped An Attempt Kidnapp|Nigeria News Today

 

Chief Victot Adewale Omofaiye, Kogi State Commissioner for Environment barely escaped being kidnapped yesterday between Oke-Ijumu and Iyara in Ijumu Local Government Area of the state. 

As according to the eye witness who pleaded anonymity said the incident occurred about 5pm while the commission was on his way from his hometown, Ekirin Adde where he had attended some ceremonies. The eyewitness also added that some unknown number of travelers where kidnapped in the attack. 

The escaped commissioner at the state owned radio station told a reporter that about 20 unknown gunmen surrounded him with different calibers of guns. He further explained that it was his orderly that whisked him away but sustained a gunshot injuries on his leg. 

The Olu Adde of Ekinrin, Oba Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu also confirmed the attack in a brief message.
